Calling all volunteers! I’m looking forward to our Ministry Fair this Sunday after both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Please come see all the various ministry opportunities we have at the Cathedral, and feel free to sign up. We always need people on hand to help us reach our goals of serving both the people of the Cathedral and the community at large. There are opportunities in Formation, Music, Outreach, Hospitality, Worship, and many others. I hope you will take the time to see what all is happening and to feel free to ask questions.
But, before the Ministry Fair, get ready for some fun with mallets and wickets! The Cathedral Cup Croquet Tournament will be on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. on the North lawn. If you didn’t sign up to play on a team, just come out and cheer others on. It should be a great afternoon of fun competition.
Choral Evensong resumes this Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Music will be by Oxley, Corfe, Tallis, and Distler. Please come prayerfully listen as the choir offers this wonderful service of sung Evening Prayer from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Following the service, you are welcome to receive communion in the chapel.
We have had a great start to the fall and I look forward to many other upcoming events including the Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 7, our Healing service on Oct. 15, Fall Festival on Oct. 29, All Saints’ Sunday on Nov. 5, and Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans on Nov. 12. Follow this with Thanksgiving and we’re almost to Advent! Where does the time go?
Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, for our nation and the world.
