We are getting ready to enter the week of the Fifth Sunday in Lent. This means that Holy Week will soon be here and, with it, all of our usual services and offerings as we draw closer to Easter. The schedule for all Holy Week and Easter services can be found later in this email, as well as in our Sunday bulletin and on our website, Facebook, or Instagram pages.
I’d like to speak on a couple of the offerings during this time.
- First, an additional service has been added on Good Friday at 5:30 p.m. Deacon Barbara and Clare will be leading Stations of the Cross for anyone who would like to attend.
- Second, our Easter Vigil will be extra special as we will present one child for baptism, eight youth for confirmation, and seven adults for confirmation/reaffirmation. Also making it special is that this will be Bishop Diane’s last Vigil with us as our Provisional Bishop. Bishop-elect Amy will be ordained as our ninth bishop next month on May 3.
Speaking of the Bishop-elect, don’t forget to register for her consecration if you plan to attend in person. The deadline to register is this Sunday, April 6.
We are looking for volunteers to help with our Easter Vigil and Easter Day receptions. We need people to prepare and bring food, help set up and clean up, and be helping hands at each of the receptions following the Vigil, 8 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. services. If you’d like to help you can sign-up on our website: kccathedral.org/upcoming-events, or contact Beth Keyse.
Don’t forget we have our Safe Church training tomorrow and Palm Cross Making event on Sunday.
Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, for our nation, and the world.
